Celebrating the announcement of a baby boy in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim nestled in the Himalayas, is a joyful tradition marked by warmth and the region's natural beauty. While traditional gifts such as blessings in the form of religious items or idols and intricately designed local handicrafts continue to be cherished, there's also a contemporary trend in Gangtok towards embracing eco-conscious and locally sourced gifting.

In recent times, families are opting for eco-friendly and locally made presents for newborns. These may include organic baby clothing made from sustainable materials, handcrafted items created by local artisans, or even symbolic gifts like saplings or small indoor plants that signify growth and a bright future. This shift towards eco-conscious and locally sourced gifting adds a unique and sustainable touch to the celebration, making it even more special for the family and the newborn. Gangtok's local markets and boutique stores offer a variety of these thoughtful and eco-friendly gift options, contributing to a more sustainable and culturally rich celebration of the birth of a baby boy. These modern and sustainable gifts not only symbolize happiness but also highlight the city's commitment to preserving its natural beauty while celebrating the arrival of the newborn.
